Melbourne - Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara celebrated his feat of becoming only the fourth player to appear in 400 one-day internationals with a century in the Cricket World Cup match against Bangladesh on Thursday.
Sangakkara was unbeaten on 100 as Sri Lanka reached 321 for one in the 50th over - with Tillakaratne Dilshan having compiled more than 150 - after electing to bat at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The 37-year-old Sangakkara joined two Sri Lankans - Sanath Jayasuriya (445) and current team-mate Mahela Jayawardene (444) - in a list headed by Sachin Tendulkar of India, who played 463 ODI matches.
Sangakkara, the prolific left-handed batsman and wicketkeeper who made his debut in 2000, is due to retire from one-day cricket, along with Jayawardene, after the World Cup.
