Colombo -  England selectors have called up leg spinner Adil Rashid to replace allrounder Michael Yardy at the World Cup after Yardy returned to England suffering from depression.

The England & Wales Cricket Board said it had received permission from tournament organisers to replace Yardy.

Rashid, who is currently in the West Indies with England's second string team, is due to arrive in Colombo on Saturday.

England face Sri Lanka in the quarterfinal of the World Cup on Saturday.
