Broad takes SL hat trick

Leeds - Stuart Broad took a hat trick for England over two overs in the second test against Sri Lanka on Friday.

He dismissed Kumar Sangakkara for 79 when the batsman sent the ball to Ian Bell at gully with the final delivery of Broad's 12th over at Headingly.

In his 13th over, Broad immediately took the wickets of Dinesh Chandimal for 45 and Shaminda Eranga.

Broad was on four-for-four balls when Nuwan Pradeep blocked a full delivery. Between Broad's overs, Liam Plunkett dismissed Dhammika Prasad for 0, meaning Sri Lanka collapsed from 228-5 to 229-9.

Broad becomes only the fourth bowler in test history to take two hat tricks.
