Bowler banned for penis image

Melbourne - An Australian cricketer was suspended on Tuesday for a bizarre incident in which he scratched the image of a penis and testicles into the pitch.

The Australian cricket fraternity was rife with jokes about "ball tampering" after South Australian paceman Daniel Worrall was slapped with a penalty of four suspension points for the offense, which is equal to two four-day matches or four one-day or T20 games.

He was reported for unbecoming conduct and bringing the game into disrepute after the incident last Friday during a Futures League match between South Australia and Victoria. Worrall scratched the image into a wicket due to be used for another match.

"We are extremely disappointed in Daniel's actions; it is not in line with the behaviour we expect," said South Australia Cricket Association high performance general manager Jamie Cox.

"We do believe this out of character for Daniel; he regrets his behaviour and has accepted the penalty."

No ball tampering allowed. (Paul Amy via Twitter)

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
