WIN! Personalised training at the BikePlus Altitude Centre

One lucky Sport24 reader stands the chance to win 10 sessions of personalised training at the BikePlus Altitude Centre to the value of R2 550.

The BikePlus Lifestyle Centre in Constantia launched Cape Town’s 1st and Africa’s 2nd Altitude Centre in April 2014.

Athletes, fitness enthusiasts, mountaineers and health conscious individuals worldwide are taking advantage of the benefits associated with altitude training while breathing hypoxic air at sea-level, which enhances an athlete’s performance, improves recovery, and prepares you for trips to high altitude.

For non-athletes, simulated altitude training has also been known to improve general health and to treat lack of sleep and fatigue. The “live low, train high” programme, known more technically as intermittent hypoxic training, is scheduled for a few workouts per week while breathing air with a lower-than-normal concentration of oxygen. The idea is that exercising with low oxygen stimulates adaptions that improve anaerobic energy production. The BikePlus Altitude Centre is equipped with British Cycling endorsed Wattbikes that monitor and track your progress as your stamina and strength improve over time.
