The stormy (Stormers, too) Western Province and Springbok scrumhalf is no stranger to a late-night kafuffle or two and September 2008 was no different – he was arrested on drunken driving charges, quite possibly not after having attended a church choir practice. Shortly afterwards the chunky, generally unsmiling competitor was the beneficiary of unusual WP generosity in allowing him to be married on the very day Province played a vital Currie Cup match at Wellington. No wonder team-mates were heard calling him “Honeymoon” at a subsequent Bellville practice …
