The Blitzboks' abysmal form in World Rugby will likely claim its first victim by way of a coaching reshuffle over the next week.
After a season in which the Blitzboks have followed up a record 10th win in Dubai – the opening venue of the current World Sevens Series – with inconsistent results that have consistently pushed them down the standings, News24 understands that SA Rugby are toying with the idea of replacing head coach Sandile Ngcobo with his assistant Philip Snyman in a desperate attempt to turn results around.
While it is unclear what will become of Ngcobo, there is speculation of another position being found for him within the structures, or a return to his role as SA Rugby's Sevens Academy coach. He only began coaching the Blitzboks last season, but to carbon copy results where they won Dubai and promptly slid down the ladder afterwards.
