After a multitude of teasers and sneak previews, the wait is over as the arrival of the new and enhanced KONA and KONA N Line is finally here.

Each new KONA can be classified as a member of the ever-growing category of subcompact SUVs on the market. The KONA N Line, in particular, being the first of the Hyundai N Line to be introduced in South Africa. In the spirit of the Olympics, read on to find out which KONA you would hand first position for your driveway.

Exterior

Customers can choose between Surfy Blue, Pulse Red, Atlas White, Ignite Flame, Cyber Grey and Dark Knight for the new Kona facelift. While potential buyers for the KONA N Line can choose between Surfy Blue, Pulse Red, Atlas White, Ignite Flame (Orange) and Cyber Grey. All colours come complete with a black roof.

The KONA facelift is fitted with 17” or 18” alloys depending on the derivative, whereas the KONA N Line comes standard with 18” diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The Cabin

The cabin of the enhanced Hyundai KONA has been given a unique style makeover that has been finished in an artificial leather seat trim. The KONA N Line has an N-inspired interior that is characterised by a red and black leather trim accompanied by the distinctive N-badge which features both on the seats and gear-knob.

Tech

Inside each cabin are a host of features to add convenience to everyday driving, ranging from remote keyless entry (with push-button start in the KONA N Line) to wireless charging and infotainment with Carplay. Other standard features that enhance safety include ESP (Electronic Stability Program), HAC (Hill Start Assist Control), Rear parking sensors and camera and a 6-airbag system. The KONA N Line also boasts smart cruise control, fatigue detection and a lane departure warning system to keep you on the straight and narrow.

Olympic pedigree

When it comes down to the bare bones of driving performance, the KONA N Line stays true its N Line heritage unapologetic love for taking on corners. If embracing the thrill of driving is more your speed then the N Line may be the compact SUV that will be more at home in your driveway.

No expense has been spared when it comes to safety with both SUVs but a different driving experience is what is promised.
