Cape Town - It was a busy morning for South African swimmers in the pool at the FINA Short-Course World Championships in Hangzhou, China.
Cameron van der Burgh progressed to the semi-final of the men's 50m breaststroke.
This is Van der Burgh's final event after the 30-year-old announced his retirement from competitive swimming earlier this week after winning gold in the men's 100m breaststroke.
Van der Burgh finished second in his heat, touching the wall in a time of 26.20 and advanced through to the semis, which will take place at 14:00 SA time.

Olympian Chad le Clos participated in two races - the men's 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly on Saturday morning.
In his 50m butterfly semi-final, Le Clos won his race by touching the wall in 22.34.
Fellow countryman Ryan Coetzee has also slotted a place in the final, finishing fifth in the second semi-final (22.75).
The 28-year-old Le Clos has also progressed to the men's 100m freestyle semi-final after finishing third in his heat with a time of 47.17.
Earlier in the championship, Le Clos won the gold medal in the 100m butterfly and took silver in the 200m race.
Meanwhile, Brad Tandy - who swam in men's 50m breaststroke - failed to qualify for the semi-finals (27.10)
Erin Gallagher finished seventh place in the women's 100m butterfly heat in a time of 58.29, and although she did not qualify for the final, she is placed on as a reserve.
Rebecca Meder finished seventh in the women's 200m individual medley heat in a time of 2:14.68 and failed to qualify for the final.
Ayrton Sweeney also failed to reach the men's 400m medley finishing last in his heat in 4:13.21.
