South Africa's top-ranked golfer, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, is in a race to make next month's Masters at the prestigious Augusta National.

As things stand, only two South African golfers have qualified for the year's first Major: 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel and two-time PGA Tour winner Erik van Rooyen.

Bezuidenhout, ranked 59th in the World Golf Rankings, needs to re-enter the Top 50 by 1 April to book his ticket to Georgia. If he succeeds, it'll be the 29-year-old's fourth Masters appearance after missing last year's event.
