Early torpedoes to Proteas' hull ... but Test ship CAN be refloated

It may have got a little lost, amidst the controversy over South Africa's devastatingly weakened men’s squad in New Zealand, that the Proteas duly slipped to (a reasonably rare) three Test defeats in a row.

The predictable 2-0 sweep by the normal-strength Black Caps came on top of SA's second-Test reverse to India at Newlands which saw that series shared 1-1 after a golden start at Centurion via an innings win.
