Moloi withdraws Chiefs referee rant comments

Cape Town - Chippa United coach Teboho Moloi has withdrawn his comments suggesting Kaizer Chiefs win matches through poor refereeing decisions, after Amakhosi beat his side 1-0 on November 5.

Moloi made the apology after saying in his post-match interview that the Glamour Boys were often favoured by match officials.

"I'm not one to complain about referees or officiating. I'm a baby. I'm crawling. I'm still new in this field. So for me to complain about officiating is not right," he had said.

"I'm not going to complain. The only thing I'm going to say is that I remember in my playing days (for Orlando Pirates) 1987-1992 when we lost against Kaizer Chiefs, this is how we used to lose.

"If I'm going to lose games in this way then I'm still learning. I expect to lose with the opposition really coming at me, coming with tactical plans, that I'll accept. But I have to accept because I grew up knowing that the only way Chiefs could beat me is through this way."

However, Moloi has since withdrawn his remarks and said he was emotional following the defeat.

"I would like to withdraw the comments I made against Chiefs in relation to my playing days. The statement was made in the heat of the moment," he said in a press release.
