From a lineout the Stormers attack down wide but a handling error sees them concede possession, allowing the Blues to get out of their 22.
The Blues go to the left wing from the scrum before the Stormers turn it over. SP Marais breaks and gives to Damian de Allende who offloads to Cheslin Kolbe. The winger is brought down on the right hand touchline, but play is called back for a Stormers penalty.

TRY, STORMERS, LEYDS! 18-19: Dillyn Leyds takes the penalty quickly with a tap and go, catching the Blues defenders off guard as he goes over to score.
The Stormers turn the ball over inside the Blues 22 and build 16 phases but still can't get through before they throw a loose pass, but the ref was playing advantage.
The Stormers make their way into the Blues 22 and almost score in the corner but SP Marais holds onto the ball instead of passing it to his left. The Stormers go right this time but a pass from Etzebeth to Kolisi is too hard and the ball spills forward.
The Blues have possession in midfield and take play left, but Treeby intercepts a pass before handing off to Damian de Allende.

The Blues keep the pressure on the Stormers 5 metres out, but Williams loses the ball in a tackle allowing Leyds to find touch down field.
Shaun Treeby is penalised for connecting Piers Francis with a swinging arm in the tackle, which almost knocks him out cold. The centre escapes a yellow card. The Blues have a penalty.

TRY, BLUES, GIBSON! 10-17: From the lineout the Blues set up a few rucks. Sonny Bill Williams picks the ball up from one 5 metres out and manages an offload to Blake Gibson who goes over.

A clever kick through by Augustine Pulu has a tricky bounce for Cheslin Kolbe, which allows the Blues to kick it forward before SP Marais slides in and falls on the ball to stop the try. However, he is penalised for holding on as the Blues opt for a scrum 5 metres out.

TRY, BLUES, MOALA! 3-5: From the scrum 5 metres out the Blues go left but can't get over. They decide to go the opposite direction and a gap is exploited by George Moala who scores.
A break from a ruck by Rieko Ioane takes play up into Stormers territory. Sonny Bill Williams makes a similar break before a scuffle between the players has the ref refer the incident to the TMO.
Eben Etzebeth is sent off for starting the scuffle against Akira Ioane and striking him in the face with an open hand.

The Blues defence holds and after Olli Kebble takes it up he gets isolated allowing Steven Luatua to gets his hands on the ball and force a turnover.
From the 5 metre lineout the Stormers try and maul over the line but they end up short, resulting in a 5 metre scrum.
Matt Duffie is penalised and sent to the sin bin for offside as the referee argues the Blues have conceded four penalties in a very short space of time.

From the lineout the Blues take the ball up. They make some ground before a loose ball is kicked away by the hosts. Pieter-Steph du Toit competed well at the breakdown to win the penalty.

Springbok tight forwards Frans Malherbe, Eben Etzebeth and Pieter-Steph du Toit are all in the Stormers starting side to face the Blues. Locks Etzebeth and Du Toit have both recovered from injury niggles whilst tighthead prop Malherbe was rested against the Hurricanes before last week?s bye as part of the Springbok management plan.
As a result Wilco Louw and Jan de Klerk will feature off the replacements bench, with the only other change to the forward pack coming at loosehead prop where Oli Kebble switches with Ali Vermaak to claim the starting spot.
In the backline Dillyn Leyds steps into the fly-half role he performed in Wellingon when Rob du Preez was forced from the field with a torn pectoral muscle and a fit-again Seabelo Senatla takes his place out on the left wing.
Experienced centre Damian de Allende returns from an ankle injury to feature on the replacements bench alongside Brandon Thomson who will provide fly-half cover for the clash with the Auckland side.
Blues head coach Tana Umaga has named All Black centre Sonny Bill Williams in his starting XV. Williams missed last week?s home match against the Cheetahs with concussion, but has been fully cleared to play in South Africa.
Fellow All Black Ofa Tu?ungafasi gets his second start of the season after his strong performance coming on for the injured Pauliasi Manu in the win over the Cheetahs at Eden Park last weekend.
