Blitzboks beat Fiji in London semis

Cape Town - The Blitzboks have made it through to the final of the London Sevens after beating Fiji 26-21 in the semi-finals.

After a highly entertaining first half that saw both sides take the lead, two tries apiece meant the score was locked at 14-14 at half time.

Fiji opened the scoring through Kitione Taliga before Tim Agaba, somewhat of a surprising selection in the starting lineup, leveled matters for South Africa.

A loose pass from Fiji then allowed Kyle Brown in for the Blitzboks - Cecil Afrika slotting a beautiful conversion from the touchline to make it 14-7.

But Fiji hit back on the stroke of half time through Osea Kolinsau to make it 14-14.

The second half started in chaotic fashion, but it was the Blitzboks who struck first through Dylan Sage as Afrika again knocked over the conversion from wide left.

The contest was then put to bed when Rosko Specman got on the end of his own kick through to get South Africa's fourth to make it 26-14.

Fiji hit back Isoa Domolailai to make it 26-21, but it was too little too late.

The Blitzboks will play in the Cup final at 18:55, but they cannot win the HSBC Sevens World Series title.

That honour is Fiji's after the islanders made the quarter-finals.
