Safa-Sasfa war pits Danny against Mandla

Since the South African Football Association (Safa) resolved to dissolve the South African Schools Football Association (Sasfa) in March 2015, the bodies have been at loggerheads.

Their battle has been reduced to a turf war between Safa president Danny ­Jordaan and his Sasfa counterpart, Mandla “Shoes” Mazibuko.

On August 7, the warring factions seemed to agree to a truce before the appeal was argued in the Johannesburg High Court. It was agreed that the matter would be heard by an independent arbitrator – Advocate William Mokhari SC, who is on the Safa list of arbitrators.

The arbitration will be conducted in terms of the Safa statutes, rules and regulations.
