Durban - Soccer World Cup host city Durban has been given 60 days to make sure the "sky car" over the top of its Moses Mabhida stadium is safe after it got stuck, according to reports on Wednesday.
The sky car can take up to 20 visitors on a 106-metre-high and 350-metre-long arch along the top of the 70 000-seat stadium for views of the city and Indian Ocean.
"The municipality was issued a contravention notice and given 60 days to improve on the things highlighted during the inspection," labour department chief inspector Thobile Lamati was quoted as saying.
Lamati visited the stadium following media reports and complaints that the car had got stuck while taking people on a trip.
Newspaper reports earlier this week stated that a 63-year-old woman collapsed while trying to walk down the 550 steps to the ground after the car got stuck near the top.
