Gasquet skips Wimbledon

London - France's Richard Gasquet has been forced to withdraw from the Wimbledon grass-court tournament which gets underway next week because of a back injury, organisers confirmed on Friday.

Gasquet, 23, also withdrew from the Queen's tournament hours before his third round match last week.

The 23-year-old, who reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2007, had looked in good form before the injury struck at Queen's as he defeated Japan's Kei Nishikori and America's Rajeev Ram.
