Paris - Former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova has moved past Simona Halep into sixth place in the latest WTA world rankings.
Halep of Romania crashed out early in a second round upset to Germany's Laura Siegemund in Stuttgart last week, while Czech player Kvitova made it to the semi-finals where she lost to eventual winner Angelique Kerber.
That was the only positional change in the top 10 with Serena Williams still comfortably ahead atop the rankings. Australian Open champion Kerber stays in third, but has closed the gap on second-placed Agnieszka Radwanska to just 35 points
