Kerber Queen of WTA standings

Paris - Germany's US Open winner Angelique Kerber remains atop the WTA world standings and will therefore finish 2016 in first position.

Serena Williams ended the three previous years ranked world number one, but Kerber started 2016 by lifting the Australian Open trophy, reached the finals of both Wimbledon and the Olympics and then won the US Open.
