Berlin - Bastad tournament winner Serena Williams of the United States retained her commanding lead atop the latest women's tennis rankings issued by the WTA on Monday.
Williams has collected 11 705 points, leading Russian Maria Sharapova (9 235 points) and Victoria Azarenka of Belarus (8 825).
After jumping eight spots thanks to her Wimbledon victory, Marion Bartoli of France dropped one spot to eighth with 4 365 points, behind Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic with 4 435 points.
