Scheepers climbs one spot

Johannesburg - South Africa's top-ranked women's player, Chanelle Scheepers, climbed one place to 68th in the latest women's world tennis ratings released on Monday.

Scheepers reached the semifinals of the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest last week, before going down in straight sets to Austrian Yvonne Meusburger.

The country's top men's player, Kevin Anderson, dropped one position to 23rd in the middle of a two-week break in his tournament schedule.

Anderson rested last week, and will not play on the ATP Tour this week, after reaching the third round at Wimbledon.

His agent, Stuart Duguid, confirmed he would return to action at next week's Atlanta Open in the United States.
