Jankovic books semis spot

Miami - Former world No 1 Jelena Jankovic booked a semi-final showdown with Maria Sharapova at the Miami WTA and ATP Masters hardcourt tournament Wednesday with a 6-4, 6-7 (6/8), 6-3 win over Roberta Vinci.

Serbia's Jankovic, seeded 22nd, needed two and a half hours to get past Vinci and set up her clash with third-seeded Sharapova, a 7-5, 7-5 winner over eighth-seeded Italian Sara Errani.

Jankovic battled back from a break down in the third set to post her fourth win over Vinci in six career meetings.

The Serbian is in search of a second title this season, after a triumph in Bogota. But she'll face a stiff semi-final test in Sharapova, who has won six of their seven encounters.
