Anderson cruises into US Open last 16

New York - South Africa's Kevin Anderson has reached the US Open last 16 after beating Croatia's Borna Coric 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 in their third round clash.

Anderson will next face Italy's Paolo Lorenzi for a spot in the quarter-finals.

Anderson will be the favourite to beat world No 40 Lorenzi, with the South African boasting a 3-0 head-to-head record against the Italian.

Anderson's best result at a Grand Slam is when he made the quarter-finals at the US Open in 2015.

And with several top seeds out in the bottom half of the draw, Anderson will fancy his chances of going deep at the year's final Grand Slam.
