Wawrinka into US Open 3rd rd

New York - Third-seeded Stan Wawrinka bulled his way into the third round of the US Open on Wednesday with a 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7/1) victory over Thomaz Bellucci.

Switzerland's Wawrinka, the reigning Australian Open champion, was dominant on serve through two sets, but Bellucci broke him twice in the third to force the fourth.

Wawrinka recovered an early break in the fourth en route to the win and will face Slovenian Blaz Kavcic in the third round. Kavcic beat 30th-seeded Frenchman Jeremy Chardy 6-2, 7-6 (8/6), 6-3 in the only other men's second-round match of the day.
