Scheepers beaten at US Open

Cape Town - South Africa's last hope in the women's draw at the US Open at Flushing Meadows - Chanelle Scheepers - has crashed out of the year's final Grand Slam in the second round.

Scheepers, currently ranked 85th in the world, went down 6-1, 6-2 against former world No 1 Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark - the sixth seed at the tournament.

Scheepers beat compatriot Chanel Simmonds in the first round.
