Sijsling ousts Kohlschreiber

Metz - Dutch qualifier Igor Sijsling upset seventh-seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany 6-4, 7-5 on Thursday to reach the quarter-finals of the Moselle Open.

Sijsling hit 10 aces on his way to victory and broke Kohlschreiber once in each set. He will now meet fourth-seeded Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia.

Xavier Malisse of Belgium and Frenchmen Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Nicolas Mahut also advanced to the last eight.

Mahut outlasted 2003 champion Arnaud Clement 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 in an all-French encounter to next face the top-seeded Tsonga, who beat French qualifier Mathieu Rodrigues 6-3, 6-4.

The sixth-seeded Malisse defeated Igor Kunitsyn of Russia 6-4, 6-2. Malisse will next play the third-seeded Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine.
