Scheepers ousted in Brussels

Brussels - South Africa's Chanelle Scheepers was on Wednesday ousted in the second round of the Brussels Open by Alison Van Uytvanck from Belgium.

Scheepers, who jumped five places to No 45 on the WTA rankings on Monday, lost 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to the 18-year-old world No 450.

The 28-year-old South African started the tournament well when she beat Russia's world No 24 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 7-5, 6-2 in the first round.

Scheepers will now head to Paris where the French Open starts on Sunday.
