Scheepers continues to slide

Johannesburg - Chanelle Scheepers fell another four places in the women's world tennis rankings after a disappointing performance in Doha, Qatar, last week.

The SA women's number one was eliminated in the first round of the Qatar Open by Christina McHale of the United States, dropping to 47th in the latest rankings released on Monday.

Scheepers, 38th at the start of the season, has failed to get beyond the second round in the five tournaments she has played, following some tough early-round draws.

Meanwhile, SA number one Kevin Anderson fell one position to 36th in the men's world rankings.

Anderson reached the quarter-finals of the SAP Open in San Jose, California, last week where he was eliminated by Canadian Milos Raonic.
