Radwanska wins Dubai title

Dubai - Agnieszka Radwanska won the eighth title of her career and the first since last autumn as she defeated German Julia Goerges 7-5, 6-4 in the final of the Dubai Championships on Saturday.

Sixth-ranked Radwanksa imposed her game on number 19 Goerges in one and three-quarter hours and picked up her first WTA trophy since an Asian title double in back-to-back weeks last autumn in Tokyo and Beijing.

Radwanska has now won eight of the ten career finals she has played while Goerges is 2-2.

Fifth seed Radwanska made best use of her Dubai debut in the resounding victory which was helped by a stream of unforced errors from her opponent.

"It was a great day today, one of my best matches," said the winner. Author: Bill Scott
