London - Sam Querrey beat close friend Mardy Fish 7-6 7-5 to win an all-American final at the Queen's Club grasscourt championships on Sunday.
Seventh seed Querrey claimed his third title of the year with a powerful display on centre court at the west London club which has seen some notable American winners down the years.
Both men served with real venom throughout the contest but Querrey was the more solid player from the baseline.
Fish did look set to take the match into a deciding set when he served at 5-4 in the second set but he played two poor backhands to allow Querrey to break back.
The unseeded Fish then wavered again when he served to stay in the match at 5-6 as Querrey won his first title on grass.
