London - Former Wimbledon finalist David Nalbandian has been handed a wildcard for next month's Queen's Club tournament, one of the leading warm-up events for the grasscourt major.
The 29-year-old Argentinian, beaten by Australia's Lleyton Hewitt in the 2002 Wimbledon final, is set to miss the upcoming French Open due to injury but is looking forward to playing in London, where the ATP event at Queen's takes place from June 6-12.
"It has been a frustrating time, but my recovery is going well and I expect to be in good shape for the tournament," Nalbandian said in a statement.
"I enjoy playing on grass, and reaching the Wimbledon final in 2002 was a special moment in my career. I hope to have a successful grass court season this year."
