Nadal well ahead in rankings

Berlin - Rafael Nadal of Spain stayed well ahead of an unchanged leading 10 in the men's ATP tennis rankings released on Monday as the world's top players do battle in London.

There was no movement in the top positions and points as the ATP World Tour Finals got underway in London on Sunday.

The eight-man season finale at the O2 Arena in London will have no outcome on the position of year-ending number one as Nadal has already secured that honour with three Grand Slam crowns this season.

Nadal has a lead of nearly 4 000 points over second-placed Roger Federer of Switzerland and has more than double the points of third-ranked Novak Djokovic of Serbia.

ATP top 10 as of November 22 (previous ranking in parenthesis):

1. (1) Rafael Nadal, Spain, 11 450 points

2. (2) Roger Federer, Switzerland, 7 645

3. (3) Novak Djokovic, Serbia, 5 635

4. (4) Robin Soderling, Sweden, 5 380

5 (5) Andy Murray, Britain, 5 360

6. (6) Tomas Berdych, Czech Republic, 3 755

7. (7) David Ferrer, Spain, 3 735

8. (8) Andy Roddick, US, 3 665

9 (9) Fernando Verdasco, Spain, 3 240

10. (10) Mikhail Youzhny, Russia, 2 920
