Kvitova into French quarters

Paris - Czech fourth seed and Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova eased into the French Open quarter-finals on Monday with an easy 6-2, 6-1 win over unseeded American Varvara Lepchenko.

Kvitova took exactly an hour to defeat the world No 63 to make the last eight in Paris for the first time.

The 22-year-old will face Kazakh qualifier Yaroslava Shvedova, who put out defending champion Li Na, for a place in the semi-finals.
