Amsterdam - Former Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek has reportedly pulled out of the race to become the next chief executive of the ATP.

Top-selling Dutch daily De Telegraaf reports on Wednesday that Krajicek believes he does not have enough support from ATP board members to continue his bid.

He tells the paper, for which he is a columnist, that he is disappointed. Krajicek said, "I would have liked to have become the new CEO of the ATP."

Krajicek could not immediately be reached for comment.

Adam Helfant, an American who took over as head of the ATP in January 2009, is stepping down this month at the end of his three-year contract.

Krajicek won Wimbledon in 1996 and is director of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.
