Klizan v Fognini in final

St Petersburg - Italian fourth seed Fabio Fognini will take on Martin Klizan, the third-seeded Slovakian, in Sunday's final of the St Petersburg Open where both men will be seeking a first career title.

World No 53 Fognini defeated Spain's Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-3, 6-4 in the first of Saturday's semi-finals to reach his second final, having finished runner-up to Gilles Simon on clay earlier in the season in Bucharest.

Klizan, the world No 45, held off top seed and 2004 champion Mikhail Youzhny 6-7 (11/13), 6-4, 7-6 (7/3) in a match lasting just under four hours and will be playing in his first championship match.
