Soderling into last 32

Paris - Robin Soderling easily reached the second round of the French Open, beating Taylor Dent of the United States 6-0, 6-1, 6-1 on Wednesday.

Soderling, last year's runner-up at Roland Garros, won 20 of the first 22 points against the unseeded American.

The fifth-seeded Soderling has lost seven games through two matches. The Swede never was past the third round at a Grand Slam tournament until the 2009 French Open, when he upset four-time champion Rafael Nadal in the fourth round and lost to Roger Federer in the final.

Soderling could meet Federer in the quarter-finals this year.
