Fans disrupt French Open clash

Paris - The French Open clash between explosive talents Benoit Paire and Fabio Fognini boiled over into the stands Wednesday when fans started fighting.

Frenchman Paire, who won the match 6-1, 6-3, 7-5 against the 28th seeded Italian on a packed Court 7, admitted he had been tempted to get involved.

"I almost stepped in. It's true that in the crowd there were two people that started fighting. It was a bit of a mess," said 26-year-old Paire.

"But I was focused on my match. So if there is a problem in the crowd, if there is a donkey walking across the court, I don't care."
