Anderson impresses at French Open

Cape Town - South Africa’s top tennis player, Kevin Anderson, is safely into the third round of the French Open at Roland Garros.

The 15th seed on Thursday defeated Yen-Hsun Lu of the Chinese Taipei 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in their second round match.

Anderson defeated America’s Tim Smyczek 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 in the first round.

Anderson will next face the winner of the match between Frenchman Richard Gasquet and Argentina’s Carlos Berlocq, who were locked at two sets apiece when bad light stopped play in their match on Thursday.
