Federer stays top of rankings

Berlin - Wimbledon champion Roger Federer stayed top of the men's tennis rankings while Argentina's Juan Monaco joined the top 10 for the first time in the ATP list released on Monday.

Federer, who had last week started a record 287th week as world number one, stays on 11,075 points, narrowly ahead of Serbia's Novak Djokovic, who remains on 11 000.

Spain's Rafael Nadal and Britain's Andy Murray remain third and fourth, with no changes to the leading nine positions.

Monaco jumps four places to 10th, with Spain's Nicolas Almagro dropping out of the top 10 to 12th.

Monaco on Sunday won his third ATP World Tour title of the season with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over home favourite Tommy Haas in Hamburg, Germany.
