Djokovic into Dubai quarters

Dubai - Second-seeded Novak Djokovic reached the quarter-finals of the Dubai Championships, beating Feliciano Lopez of Spain 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.

The third-ranked Serb dominated his Spanish opponent in the first set, but errors in the second set allowed Lopez to get back into the match. The decider was tight with Djokovic allowing an early advantage to slip before breaking again for a 4-3 lead and closing it out.

The Australian Open champion will play German Florian Mayer in the quarterfinals.
