Twitter serves up praise for Federer

Cape Town - Roger Federer defeated his rival Rafael Nadal in five-sets to clinch the Australian Open final and win his 18th Grand Slam title.

The 35-year-old Swiss marvel also became the oldest man in the post-1968 Open era to win a major final since Australia's Ken Rosewall at the 1972 Australian Open.

He also won his fifth Australian Open title to accompany his seven Wimbledon, five US Open and one French Open titles.

Naturally, Twitter was raving over the thrilling match and Federer's timeless victory.
