Wozniacki battles into 2nd rd

Melbourne - Eighth seed Caroline Wozniacki battled her way into the Australian Open second round on Monday, setting up an enticing clash with unseeded two-tme champion Victoria Azarenka.

The Danish 24-year-old advanced in straight sets but American teenager Taylor Townsend made her work hard for a 7-6 (7-1), 6-2 victory over 92 minutes.

Former world number one Wozniacki had her best result at Melbourne Park in 2011, when she reached the semi-finals.
