Cape Town - Kevin Anderson, South Africa's number one tennis player, rose one place to a career-high 31st position in the latest ATP world rankings released on Monday.
Anderson has not played since picking up a hip flexor injury in the host nation's 4-1 loss to Croatia in the Davis Cup World Group playoffs in Potchefstroom last month.
However, his rating was boosted by his performances in recent seasons.
Chanelle Scheepers, the South African women's number one, remained in 41st position on the WTA list, after storming up the rankings the previous week with a maiden tour victory in Guangzhou, China.
