Injured Tsonga out of Shanghai Masters

Paris - Former Australian Open finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is out of next week's Shanghai Masters with the knee injury that saw him miss this week's Beijing Open, his agent said on Friday.

The world No 18, who lost to Novak Djokovic in the 2008 final in Melbourne, is set to lead France in next month's Davis Cup final against Belgium in Lille.

He first felt pain in his knee in mid-September at the St Petersburg Open and is currently recovering at his home in Switzerland.

He is next due to play at the Vienna Open starting October 23 and then the Paris Masters the following week.
