Greek tennis player gets life ban

London - Greek tennis player Alexandros Jakupovic has been banned from the sport for life for breaking rules on match-fixing.

The Tennis Integrity Unit said on Friday that 34-year-old Jakupovic was found guilty of five charges under the sport's anti-corruption programme.

Jakupovic, whose career-high ranking was No 267 in 2008, played in two ATP challenger tournaments this season, losing both of his matches. He has career earnings of $116 707.

Details of how Jakupovic broke the rules were not given.
