Cape Town - South Africa's Kevin Anderson has beaten second seeded Richard Gasquet of France to book his place in the semi-finals of the Estoril Open in Portugal.

Anderson won in three grueling sets, 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4). This is the third time Anderson has beaten Gasquet in four encounters.

He will now face third seed, Gilles Müller of Luxembourg in the semi-finals.

Anderson's last tournament win came in 2015 at the Winston-Salem hardcourt tournament.
