Turkey name Davis Cup team for SA duel

Mersin - Turkey On Wednesday announced their best possible team to face seeded South Africa next weekend in the first round of the Europe/Africa Zone Group 2 Davis Cup tie.

The tie, to be played from March 6-8, will be staged in Mersin, Turkey at the Mersin Tennis Complex on a hard indoor court.

Turkey’s non-playing captain Haluk Akkoyun nominated his four best players including the highest ranked Turkey player on the ATP Tour, Marsel Ilaan, for their home tie.

Ilhan, 27 year old was the first Turkish player to break into the world’s top 100 (2010) and reached a career high of 87 in 2011.
