Robredo downs Olivo in Argentina

Buenos Aires - Second-seeded Tommy Robredo of Spain defeated Renzo Olivo of Argentina 6-1, 6-2 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Argentina Open on Thursday.

Robredo cruised to victory against the 186th-ranked Olivo, breaking the Argentine's service twice in each set to win the match in just over an hour.

The 18th-ranked Robredo will now face Nicolas Almagro, who defeated fellow Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-3, 6-4.

Top-seeded Rafael Nadal will play Federico Delbonis of Argentina in his quarter-final match on Friday.

The 14-time major winner was eliminated from the doubles competition on Thursday with partner Juan Monaco of Argentina. They lost to the Argentine pairing of Delbonis and Andres Molteni 6-4, 3-6, 10-7.
