Montanes reaches Nice final

Nice - Albert Montanes of Spain reached the final of the Open de Nice on Friday by beating French wild-card entry Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-4, 4-6, 6-0.

Montanes will face either compatriot Pablo Andujar or Gael Monfils of France.

The Spaniard hit 11 aces and clinched the victory with a backhand return winner.

The Open de Nice is a warm-up tournament for the French Open, which starts Sunday.
