Klaasen helps floor Bryans

Cape Town - South African doubles player Raven Klaasen and his American partner, Eric Butorac, registered their second victory of the year over top seeds Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan to claim the US National Indoor Tennis Championships title on Sunday.

According to the ATP's official website, the duo fired eight aces and saved two break points to emerge with a 6-4, 6-4 win in 65 minutes in Memphis.

Klaasen and Butorac made headlines earlier this year when they stunned the world No 1 Bryans en route to making the Australian Open final.

The No 2 seeds did not relinquish a set all week in Memphis, capturing their second title in their third final together. They previously defeated Pablo Cuevas and Horacio Zeballos in Kuala Lumpur in 2013.

It was Butorac's 15th title on the ATP World Tour and second in Memphis, having won with Jamie Murray in 2007, while Klaasen won his fourth trophy and third on indoor hard courts.

The duo earned 250 ATP Ranking points and $31 320 (R340 135). They now travel to Florida for the ATP Delray Beach Open being played this week where they will again be seeded second behind the Bryans.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
